Laloo sucks
Laloo(rechristened Lalu....god knows why) and Raabri Devi have always been in the news for wrong reasons. Remaining seated while the national anthem was being played is just another case in the point. I think this move(or the lack of movement with the NA on) was pretty deliberate....just a publicity stunt.
I remember the BSP leader Mayawati saying that "...when i called Gandhi 'son of a demon', the press criticised me a lot but they were giving me free publicity in the process and I was so happy about it ! "
.....just anything goes for publicity...Lalu must be pretty happy about the media attention he is getting for this incident.
With leaders like these....god bless india.

Although -not standing while the national anthem is played- is not exactly a crime, but if the chief minister himself does this...i don't see why they should be teaching this stuff in school anymore.
After the Bombay riots all the theatres in Bombay had started playing the national anthem before any movie screening. I remember last year an idiot in the row behind mine was forced to stand up by other members of the audience during national anthem.
Anyway the point is that people/politicians/Laloo resort to such things just for publicity. I find this absolutely despicable.
Well, standing on such an occasion (as a custom) should not be mis-understood with the fact that, respect can’t be rendered while sitting. But the gesture shown by the Worst CM of the Best state (may be I am getting genuinely unfeigned ;-) ..really pathetic ... Trying to snatch few moments to make them literate …which they missed out on in School days ….as they took this Adage seriously “…Kala akchar Bhais Barabar…”
I don't think it's the schooling. Lalu has an LLB degree(!) while Rabri is 'chautha pass'(studied till class four)....they did it intentionally for publicity.
